This weekend was the end of yet another Covid restricted camping season, but regardless, we did do some nice exploring of Ontario. Hopefully next year will see some travel further afield, but as they say, it will be,…what it will be.
Winterizing once again at Cedar Cove Resort, a perennial favourite to close out the season. Chris and Jen joined us, and we were really fortunate to have some decent weather.
This year’s fall colours seemed to be heavy on the yellows, and much less of the vibrant reds. Regardless, it is nice to see the trees changing colours.
Pretty much a hang out weekend, we had a couple of nice meals together, and the Solo Stove gave us some roaring fires and cozy heat.

It was the first time we tried an Instant Pot meal while camping, a tasty chicken stew. Jen made Red Lobster cheese bisquits in her Omnia Oven, drizzled with garlic butter, they were very tasty. We could see how handy the Instant Pot would be to make other recipes of one pot meals...with leftovers. Looks like it will be coming camping with us a few more times.
Overall, it was a good season. We started off with a trip around the Bruce Peninsula and upper Lake Huron area with Mark & Angela, a fabulous afternoon at Driftwood, paddling on the Dumoine River with Greg & Susan, and a ton of visiting with friends at Sandbanks in PEC. Throw in a handful of shorter jaunts, and it made for a summer of almost steady camping.
Always fun!
Looking good, Jim!
