2022 Trip 7: closing up

Another camping season comes to a close at Cedar Cove. Definitely a tradition now, and we were joined once again by Chris & Jen. Great spot to close up as all the sites have the three services, and it has a nice restaurant which we always enjoy.

2022 Trip 6: Bonnechere

Once again I play sherpa for the weekend, hauling food and gear for Dale’s annual Girl’s Weekend. Barley and I then set up at a site in another part of the park, and we just hang out.

2022 Trip 5: A Michigan Road Trip

Off to upper central Michigan to attend our nephew’s wedding, which is in a scenic area along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. The wedding is at a resort outside of Gaylord, so we decided to take the Alto and make it a little road trip.

A Bit of Front End Work

The protective coroplast on the front of the Alto is starting to show its age after thirteen years. The sun and the elements have slowly faded the original black colour into a pasty looking grey. The time was now to put on a new piece.

looking a tad weary

Under Bench Lighting

So many times when we have left the bed set up, we have inevitably needed to crawl into the black pit of the tunnel between the benches to retrieve something.

2022 Trip 4: PEC is always wonderful

Our annual jaunt to The County, which we have been doing for decades. We have seen the area evolve in many ways, and continue to enjoy every visit.

Safari Condo Lagun Mounting Kit

The Lagun mount is a popular retrofit for the dining table in the Alto. Safari Condo uses the mount in one of their models, and also offers a kit to help owners perform their own installation.

notice the suspect screws, and also the nicely covered plywood

A Few Spring Mods

Catching up on posting about a few little mods that have been added recently.

Fridge Mounting Reinforcement

Although this little bit of maintenance was not done on our Alto, it was done on a 1743 with the 12v Nova Cool fridge. It probably could apply to most any fridge installation.

A Tale of Three Ports

Having a set of external solar panels is a great accessory for off grid camping. Certainly an easy addition, but getting that extra power into the Alto can pose a little effort.

2022 Trip 3: A Visiting Tour

As many others have experienced, the time of Covid has kept us from visiting family and friends over the past few years. Now that things have loosened up, we thought a little tour of the Toronto area was in order.

2022 Trip 2: Rollins, Sandbanks & The Palms

We had a fabulous time camping at two of our favourite parks, and the trips were so much more enjoyable as we were camping with our friends Karen & Steve.

2022 Trip 1: on the waterfront

First outing of the new season, back to Silver Lake,  a park that is close to home and makes a nice getaway. Snagged a fave site right on the water, our own waterfront, with the mellow ambiance of the Hwy 7 drone in the background.
