We were able to snag our favourite site at this park, right on the water in a quiet non serviced area.
Weather started a bit damp, but soon turned quite nice. We got set up, made dinner, then enjoyed a nice fire by the edge of the lake. It cooled off a bit in the evening, but that made for nice sleeping.
Launched the kayaks the next morning and went for a paddle around the lake. It is not a big lake, and paddling completely around it only takes about an hour.
Our friends Helen & Paul came over in the afternoon from their nearby cottage, and we fired up the Bbq to cook dinner, then sat around the campfire and visited.
We discovered a brand new comfort station had been built in the park, along with a two position dump station. It seems that the Ministry is making infrastructure improvements every year to various parks around the province. Certainly a good investment of our tax dollars.
Dale the brave...that water was chilly |
Another paddle the next morning, then we made lunch before packing up and heading home. It is always enjoyable to get away from the city and just relax at a park.
