Our final day of our stay in San Antonio was to head downtown in the late morning and walk the Riverwalk loop around the canal system. We were blown away as to how beautiful, organic, creative and whimsical the Riverwalk is. That a city would go to that much effort and so much cost to create such a public space that is free for all their citizens to use and to attract tourists, is commendable.
Here some snaps taken along our route, and in the evenings we are sure it would be even more spectacular.

trolleys...great for getting around the city |
We had heard that to get an authentic Mexican meal one needs to go to the Mexican market so for a late lunch we took one of the city trolleys to the market, walked around and had a nice meal at Mi Tierra. Nothing like a Sangria and Mexican beer to quench our thirsts...

lots of colour |
Headed back to the campground to get ready for our pull-out in the morning for our next leg of our trip. Staying at the Alamo KOA suited us very well,it is very well run, has wonderful washroom and shower facilities, and easy to get back and forth to downtown to do all our sightseeing. Would highly recommend it.
Because of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo being on while we were here, we had the unique experience of being surrounded by massive RV rigs, and RV Equine rigs which is a massively long trailer/a combo. RV in the front and horse trailer in the back. The length of the horse trailer section is dependant on how many stalls within it, most are extra long with 4 or 6 stalls. It was a novelty to be (by far) the tiniest trailer in the park.
